When I first started as a medical scribe, I expected to learn medical terminology and charting, but I really didn’t expect that mentorship and sense of belonging that came with it.
Through the brief interactions I have had with patients by giving them paperwork, I have been able to increase my communication skills, use more medical terminology in real-life situations, and really get a better sense of how much time and effort it goes into being a provider and how to treat each patient.
